CHANGES TO Q-RIDE Motorcycle Licensing from June 30th 2008

Motorcycle Licensing in Queensland is changing.

Q-RIDE NOW: People who have held a Queensland car licence in Provisional or Open status for at least 3 of the past  5 years, can progress through Q-Ride from a motorcycle learner's permit direct to an unrestricted R Class motorcycle license.

Q-RIDE AFTER JUNE 30 2008: The Queensland Government has said that ALL beginning motorcyclists will be restricted in the first 12 months to riding motorcycles no bigger than 250cc.

Q-RIDE FROM NOW UNTIL JUNE 30 2008: For people with a motorcycle learner's permit, who book and BEGIN THEIR Q-RIDE TRAINING BEFORE JUNE 30 2008, there is a 6 month period during which they can complete their Q-Ride directly to an unrestricted R Class motorcycle license.
