Morgan & Wacker at Laverda Concours 2013

NEW DATE:  August 18th  2013

Venue: Cleveland Show Grounds, Norm Price Park, Long Street, Cleveland. Qld 4163

Presented by Club Laverda Qld Inc. (CLQ), CONCOURS 2013 is a static motorcycle display offering some 54 trophies and $2000 for the best machine entered on the day.

Morgan & Wacker Motorcycles is proud to once again be a Major Sponsor for the 2013 Laverda Concours.

CONCOURS judging is done by respected motorcycle enthusiasts from a variety of backgrounds including popular motorcycle journalism. The judges’ decision is final.

CONCOURS 2013 at Cleveland will be the third event at Cleveland and the 25th annual event presented by CLQ  – the result of the Story Bridge Concours (running for some 22 years) outgrowing the Kangaroo Point venue at Captain Burke Park.

A $5.00 entry fee applies to patrons over 15 years and includes on-site motorcycle parking. An additional $10.00 entry fee applies to enthusiasts wishing to enter their machines for judging and trophies and to be eligible for the $2000 prize for “Best in Show”. Machines entered for judging must be in running order.

The success of CONCOURS 2013 is assured providing the weather is fair. Should wet weather prevail the event will be postponed to a date to be set. Visit for information regarding postponement in the days prior to the event. CLQ members remain optimistic.

The event is alcohol free and as such is a family day raising funds for the Make a Wish Foundation. Over the past 7 years CLQ has given some $43,000 to this worthy charity.

CONCOURS attracts motorcycle trade stalls (30 approx.), motorcycle enthusiast club displays (35 approx.), and motorcycle enthusiasts both local and interstate. Entertainment includes food vendors, kiddie’s rides, and live music provided by the popular local act, the Dave Ritter Band.

At 2:30pm a Make a Wish Foundation representative makes a speech introducing a Make a Wish recipient followed by trophy presentations for the actual Concours de Elegance winners.

This event is newsworthy, providing a positive spin on the motorcycling community. There will be ample opportunity for photos, video, and interviews with the “normal” motorcycling community.
