Gold Coast Harley-Davidson Visits Indian Larry!
In August Tyson (our Parts and Accessories Manager) and I traveled to Boston for the Annual Dealer meeting for the Launch of the 2017 Models. On the way we stopped in New York for a few days of rest and relaxation and the number one destination we had in mind was the Indian Larry store in Brooklyn. At Gold Coast Harley we love customising Harley-Davidson Motorcycles, and we try to take inspiration wherever we can, and there was arguably no one that did it better than Indian Larry.
Indian Larry was a Legendary Motorcycle Builder, Artist and Stuntman that turned building Choppers into an art form. He died from injuries sustained from an accident at a Bike Show in 2004, but his work carries on at his Shop in Brooklyn. The shop is not a large one, but includes the workshop where Custom Choppers are built, as well as the collection of Motorcycles that gave him fame. The Choppers are shipped around the country for Shows and Displays, and had just returned from Sturgis a week before we were there. We were lucky to have it timed right that we saw a large chunk of his collection. The detail in these bikes as well as the techniques used to build them is insane.
If you like Custom built motorcycles and are in New York it is definitely worth the trip out to Brooklyn to check out this store in the middle of an Industrial Area, with not much around apart from some of the best Works of Art on Two Wheels in the World. Enjoy the photos!
