Gold Coast Harley-Davidson: From Dyno to the Quarter Mile


The 2016 FLSTFBS Fat Boy S Demo build continues here at Gold Coast Harley-Davidson.

After putting 800kms on the Fat Boy we took it up to the Dyno for a tune and a run to see how the Screamin Eagle 117 Kit goes. As you can see by the Dyno Chart it read Max Power of 112.35 with a Max Torque of 122.96.  The Screamin Eagle catalogue was pretty accurate but we managed to get a higher than expected based on our exhaust and air filter combination.  We believe that once it has more kilometres on it and it gets a power run these numbers will improve again.

Now it is time to run it down the Quarter Mile to see what we can register with the bike, and we would like you to join us at Willowbank on Sunday at the All Bike Day.  We are having a Gold Coast Harley Shop Ride out of here taking the bike up to Willowbank.  We will be meeting at the Shop at 5.30am ready for a 6am departure to brave the July cold.  Once we get there our Technician Brad McSweeney will begin to qualify the FLSTFBS.

Brad has been here with us for 3 months and brings with him great knowledge and plenty of experience of Harley-Davidson Motorcycles, as well as Drag bikes.  Brad has been working on Harley-Davidson Motorcycles for 15 years, and has been Drag Racing for 10 of these, winning over 20 trophies along the way.  He has competed at Winternationals, quite often running the only Harley amongst Turbo Charged Japanese bikes.  He has built a Supercharged 2007 FXDL Low Rider which ran a 9.92 down the Quarter Mile, at 140 MPH.  Brad is expecting the FLSTFBS to run 12 seconds on Sunday, but we think he is underselling the bike and himself.
