Meet Batgirl’s Bad Arse Forty-Eight

Meet Batgirl’s Bad Arse Forty-Eight

Who would have thought buying a Harley means a new lease in life.

It all started about fifteen months ago when my partner bought a Softail Standard so I could ride as his pillion. Well, that lasted two months as I needed to be in control, and quite honestly I found it boring.

We also joined the Gold Coast HOG’s and met a fun loving couple called Rick and Mandy, better known as Tick and Scully. It was Scully that inspired me to take up riding and buy my first bike, the Harley Street 500, and they named me Batgirl.

The LAM’s Harley XG500 meant that I could ride with the HOG club during those first twelve months, and with the support of the Club I quickly became addicted to the fun, enjoyment, adventures and new friendships that came along with riding.

One other major benefit is a huge stress relief after riding which in my profession is an added bonus.

My New Forty-Eight is my next progression. It’s easy, and a whole lot of fun to ride, and looks super COOL. I really like the old school / café racer bikes and really didn’t feel confident enough to ride a bigger bike, JUST YET.

My 2016 Forty-Eight has been fitted with the following Customised Parts and Accessories amongst others:

  • Vance and Hines Short Shot exhausts
  • Sidemount number plate
  • Flushmount Fuel Cap
  • Daymaker LED Headlight
  • Burst Collection Mirrors
  • Rail Collection Derby Cover & Timing Cover
  • Burst Collection Grips
  • Burst Collection Footpegs and Controls
  • Rail Collection Rocker Covers
  • Black Diamond Axlenut Covers
  • Screamin Eagle Spark Plug Leads

I owe a big thanks to Doug for fitting it out. I didn’t really have to say too much to Doug, except to make it bad arse, really loud, super cool and keep it a secret from Paul (my partner) how much I was spending. Doug achieved it all.

Since the purchase I have had more parts fitted as they have arrived. If there is anything that is not top notch quality, or faulty they then replace it under warranty without any question. Ash and Steve in the Service Department are extremely helpful, “nothing is problem” which is hard to find in a business these days.

Over the 15 months the shop has been a meeting point for rides, shop social events and catching up with friends, sometimes just for a coffee. Of course, not to mention spending a little on Merchandise, and Motorclothes, as Racheal and Bridget are very good at showing the latest stuff, actually they’re quite dangerous.

All the team at Gold Coast Harley-Davidson are extremely friendly. Steve, Jake, Dylan, and Tyson go out of their way to say hello even when they are busy. Actually, it’s just like family.

I gather this means I’ve got the Harley hook.

I wonder what my next bike will be?
